The C4G Executive Committee announces a vacancy for C4G Technical Director, which is open for candidature until October 31st, 2017. The Technical Director eligible will take position on January 1st, 2018 for a one-year period which is, eventually, renewable.
The candidates must send resume to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. The Executive Committee will make the seriation that must be ratified by the Coordinating Committee before the University of Beira Interior (UBI) to “recruit” the Guest Scientist Fellowship.
This is an opportunity under Guest Scientist Fellowship conditions, which does not require a formal competition, but C4G Executive Committee believes that the most correct process is to allow anyone in the C4G community who fits the profile to show their interest in taking the job.
The candidate must fulfill the following conditions:
a) PhD in the areas of Earth Sciences and related fields
b) Project Management Experience (a minimum of 3 projects funded by FCT as Principal Investigator and 1 project financed by the EU as Portuguese Principal Investigator or Principal Investigator)
c) Minimum of 20 scientific publications registered in the ORCID
d) Exclusivity for the position (required by the FCT)
e) Availability to be physically at the C4G headquarters (Covilhã)
This announcement is a consequence of recently changes in legislation regarding PhD hiring by public institutions and public organizations (see DL 57/2016 and Lei 57/2017). After consulting FCT about the new rules, FCT asked for the C4G Executive Committee to wait for new procedures´ explanation about Researches Infrastructures hiring PhD personnel. By acknowledging that this process could take too much time and, in fact, get a lack of solution in this new scenario, C4G Executive Committee requested FCT, exceptionally, the permission to hire C4G Technical Director under Guest Scientist Fellowship, which was granted by FCT.
