C4G is a new associate member of UNAVCO

“Becoming a member of UNAVCO is important for C4G and all research institutions that form this consortium”, states Rui Fernandes, who is the C4G representative.

This Tuesday (December 11th, 2018), the Collaboratory for Geosciences (C4G) was announced as a new associate member of UNAVCO. The announcement was made at AGU Fall Meeting, which is being held at Washington, D.C. (USA), and it is considered one of the two most important events that reunite Earth and space scientists from all over the world.

“Becoming a member of UNAVCO is important for C4G and all research institutions that form this consortium”, states Rui Fernandes, who is the C4G representative. “As a member of a renowned non-profit university-governed consortium that facilitates research and education, C4G leverages its assessment in terms of global research”, explains Rui Fernandes that also added: “we also thank UBI, which has paid the association fee”.

About UNAVCO – It is a non-profit university-governed consortium, facilitates geoscience research and education using geodesy. Its vision statement is “transforming understanding of Earth systems and hazards using geodesy”.
