• LA13. Integrated Services for the Mitigation of Anthropogenic Risks

Coordinator: Carla Candeias, UA
Co-coordination: Maria de Lurdes Dinis, FEUP
Institutions: FEUP, IST, UA, UC

Line of action aiming to develop and make available methodologies, tests and combined studies to identify and mitigate risks derived from human ativities, by promoting the integration of multidisciplinary C4G members and equipment.

Covered are risks of contamination on air, soil, water and stream sediments due to fire, agriculture, waste disposal, transport and storage infractuctures, and the industry.

+ SERVICES

  • Risk assessment of anthropogenic soil contamination
Geochemical, mineralogical, morphological and size characterization of superficial and underground soils. Geospatial modelling. Risk assessment and definition of mitigation strategies.

  • Risk assessment of anthropogenic waters (superficial and underground) and stream sediments contamination
Geochemical, mineralogical, morphological and size characterization of stream sediments. Hydrogeochemical assessment of stream and underground waters contamination. Geospatial modelling. Risk assessment and definition of mitigation strategies.

  • Risk assessment of anthropogenic indoor and outdoor air contamination
Indoor and outdoor gases and dust particles (geochemical,  mineralogical, morphological and size characterization). Geospatial modelling. Risk assessment and definition of mitigation strategies.
